Shuo Qin

Shuo Qin is a fourth-year doctoral student in the architecture program at the University of Cincinnati College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning. His current field research focuses on how brutalism and Urban Renewal reshaped North American Chinatown, specifically Sacramento Chinatown, San Francisco Chinatown, and Washington DC Chinatown. From those Chinatowns, he put the lens on the history of immigrants, and the occupation of architecture(brutalism) before and after the design. He also demonstrates the aesthetics of Chinese elements within the architecture. His secondary research focuses on the study of the comparison of the informal settlement between Latin America and China.



He holds two years of experience in professional practice In China; Prior to studying in America, he worked in an architecture institute in Xi'an, including China Northwest Architecture Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. Xi'an Guangdong Yuejian Design & Research Institute Co., LTD
