Professional Summary
Personal Statement
I have worked as a peer tutor at my medical school since I started my second year. Helping to teach my peers has been an amazing experience and has also allowed me to grow in many ways. One of the most important things I have realized is that no student learns in the exact same way. Some students prefer verbal explanations of their lecture slides, some prefer me to draw graphs and diagrams of biochemical pathways, and some want to try practice questions on their own before going over the answers together. There is no single approach to teaching, and the constant variation in working to meet students' needs has kept teaching fresh and exciting.
Why I Chose Cincinnati
I am a big fan of the curriculum really immersing us in outpatient care during the long block as I am most interested in specialties that have a large outpatient component. I was also very impressed by how positive all the residents were during my second look day and loved that they all had a recruitment pitch for coming to Cincinnati. It evidently worked as I’m excited to be joining their ranks soon!
