Professional Summary

Personal Statement
Social determinants of health, often directly tied to a person’s ability to afford health insurance, and the associated health disparities, are eerily commonplace in our society. I experienced a great sense of personal disappointment witnessing these inequalities, which was the catalyst for my desire to pursue internal medicine – a field in which the coordination of medical care and both social and medical aspects of a patient’s experience is of utmost importance.

Why I Chose Cincinnati

The culture among the residents and leadership was a big reason I chose Cincinnati, and something that came through loud and clear even in the video interviews! The residents I met on my interview day and afterward were extremely welcoming. They showed strong support for one another, laughed together, and were a big family. I also appreciated how the leadership has the residents’ back and embraces the growth mindset. In the end, I was very excited at the chance to join the University of Cincinnati IM family!
