Professional Summary

Dr. Alicia K. Ribar holds a Ph.D. in Nursing and is a nationally certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 30 years of clinical experience and over 20 years of experience in higher education. She began her career with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Toledo, Medical College of Ohio, and completed her Master of Science in Nursing at Wright State University, becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner. Dr. Ribar completed her Ph.D. in Nursing at Duquesne University and has been an academic administrator for over ten years. She is an expert in curriculum design and evaluation for traditional and online delivery methods across undergraduate and graduate programs. She has also served as a mentor for over 30 doctoral students during her academic career.
Dr. Ribar has extensive experience in higher education accreditation with the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Council on Accreditation (COA), Higher Learning Commission (HLC), and Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). Throughout her career, she has been extensively involved in Workforce Development and Interprofessional Educational efforts serving as a key faculty member for the South Carolina Area Health Education Centers (AHEC). She has led or participated in several funded studies and was the project director for several HRSA workforce development grants addressing primary care workforce development in rural and underserved populations. Dr. Ribar currently serves as the 19th Dean at the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing.
