Professional Summary
Personal Statement
The only career I considered outside of medicine was being a high school history teacher. I have always had a passion for history, and the notion of helping others share in this passion excites me. However, after I explored that option by spending time working as a substitute teacher, I realized that choosing to become a doctor was the best choice for me. I know I would regret not pursuing medicine, a dream of mine since early adolescence. I am thankful that being a doctor allows me to pursue multiple passions. It is our ability to teach that is one of the most appealing aspects of the practice of medicine in general and internal medicine specifically.
Why I Chose Cincinnati
My interview at UC was my final interview, and I left feeling more at home than any other place I visited. Dr. Warm’s presentation had me sold on the program almost immediately. I especially love the emphasis placed on theories of learning and spaced repetition, which served me well as a medical student, but I was even more impressed with the strides the program has made toward preventing physician burnout and making sure we are more involved with our patients than just a quick visit on pre‐rounds in the morning. I felt during my interviews that my interviewers genuinely
wanted me here.
