Professional Summary

Personal Statement
My teenage years were spent living through the peak of the Syrian civil war. I witnessed how war could wreak havoc on an entire country, and watched people struggle mentally, physically, financially, and emotionally. As the war progressed, I developed an increased appreciation for the role of a physician during times of crisis. We consistently heard stories about physicians exposing themselves to danger, staying for days at the hospital with the wounded, and performing house calls when transportation to the hospital was not safe. These medical heroes opened my eyes to the scope and reach of a physician, inspiring me to become one myself. I dreamed of helping the less fortunate who were not able to escape their life's catastrophes.

Why I Chose Cincinnati
I had a wonderful experience during my interview at UC and fell in love with the program’s structure and values. The focus on medical education, emphasis on evidence-based learning and growth mindset were major points of attraction for me. Moreover, interacting with the residents felt very comfortable and enjoyable. Their energy and camaraderie spoke volumes to the supportive environment the program cultivates. Program leadership seemed very invested in each and every resident’s growth and education.
Overall, I knew UC was the perfect place for me to thrive and reach my full potential as a resident physician and I couldn’t be any happier with my decision.
