Personal Statement
"To infinity…and beyond!" I shouted as a child leaping off my bed onto a pile of pillows and blankets. Wearing a green and purple space ranger suit with a control panel on my chest and two purple wings, I thought I was unstoppable. Left to my early imagination, I might be Buzz Lightyear today. In fact, I contemplated a variety of professions at different stages in my life—and yes, one of them was a doctor. While childhood dreams and aspirations are often unrealistic, I’ve been fortunate enough to pursue one of my earliest fascinations—becoming a physician. Throughout my journey in medicine, I’ve had countless patient experiences that have impacted my life, including two meaningful ones that solidified my desire to pursue an internal medicine residency position; and although I traded in my childhood space ranger suit for a worn-out and slightly wrinkled short white coat with a small coffee stain on the front pocket, I still aspire to be unstoppable and make a difference in the world, one patient at a time.

Why I Chose Cincinnati
The University of Cincinnati Internal Medicine Residency Program, including Dr. Warm, the faculty, and residents all showed a tremendous amount of friendliness and excitement during virtual interviews, which cultivated a welcoming environment. It truly felt like I was joining more than a residency program, but a large family. The opportunity to join a program that has been at the forefront of residency education was another major factor in my decision. The collegial environment and friendly, supportive culture at UC was a breath of fresh air and solidified my desire to learn and grow as a Bearcat.
