Dustin A. Silverman , MD

As an expert head and neck surgical oncologist, I specialize in providing comprehensive treatment for both benign and malignant tumors of the head and neck. This includes the management of upper aerodigestive tract tumors involving the oral cavity, throat and larynx, thyroid tumors, parathyroid and salivary gland neoplasms, skin cancers and many other pathologies. My specific areas of interest include robotic-assisted surgery for HPV-related head and neck cancer as well as advanced reconstructive and microvascular techniques in order to optimize function, cosmesis, and quality of life for my patients.
 
I believe in helping patients achieve the best possible outcome by tailoring care to each individual patient’s needs. I feel this is best achieved through a team-based approach and multidisciplinary collaboration. Each day, I aim to build therapeutic relationships to guide patients and their families through detailed, personalized treatment plans while providing state-of-the-art surgical care.
 
In addition to my clinical work, I am an assistant professor in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at The University of Cincinnati. I take pride in the opportunity to train residents and fellows to become excellent surgeons and educate numerous medical students to achieve their goals. In addition, I have an interest in clinical and translational research projects across the academic institution designed to improve patient care.
