Research and Practice Interests

Dr. Simmons researches sustainable augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) education and training. She has clinical experience with pediatrics through adults with hopes of developing versatile AAC instructional materials and methods for patients, families, and healthcare workers. Dr. Simmons is also interested in researching simulation education practices, especially considering medical placement training.
