Professional Summary

Personal Statement
"You're the first person today who actually helped me understand what's happening." I was the medical student on the infectious disease consult team, and the patient had just thanked me for spending time at the bedside explaining her diagnosis and workup. After fifteen minutes of discussion where I linked her heart valve vegetation to her stroke and our recommendation for a colonoscopy, the patient and her husband were visibly more at ease. That evening, I called my parents and told them that for the first time, I felt like someone's doctor. It was a moment that affirmed not only my ability to communicate clearly and calmly in complex situations, but also the kind of physician I aim to be – one who builds trust, improves understanding, and shows up with curiosity and clarity, particularly in the most challenging times.

Why I Chose Cincinnati
As a medical student at the University of Cincinnati, I saw firsthand the qualities that led to me remaining here for residency. The residents and faculty are not only exceptionally talented and hardworking, but also supportive colleagues and dedicated educators who invest deeply in mentorship and trainee development. Coupled with the large and diverse patient population UC draws from, the program offers an incredible environment for me to progress professionally and personally.
