Professional Summary
Professor Jane Alden Stevens currently teaches Fine Art Photography from introduction through graduate levels, and professional practices for fine artists. Individual shows include the Johnson Museum of Art in Ithaca, NY, Blue Sky Gallery in Portland, OR, and A.R.C. Gallery in Chicago. Her work has been featured online in the Photo-Eye Gallery Photographers Showcase. Group shows in the U.S. include the Center for Photography in Woodstock, NY, the Cincinnati Art Museum, and the Eye Gallery in San Fransisco, CA. International group shows include Brazil, Finland, Ukraine, and Germany. Articles on her work have been published in Panorama magazine (2002), Adirondack Life magazine (1997), The World & I magazine (1992), and Valokuva ("Finnish Photography", 1991). Grants include an Ohio Arts Council Artists Projects Grant (2000), and two Ohio Arts Council Individual Artist Grants (1990, 2002). Her work is in the permanent collections of the International Museum of Photography and Film at the George Eastman House in Rochester, NY, the Center for Photography as an Art Form in Bombay, India, the Center for Photography in Woodstock, NY, and the Cincinnati Art Museum.
