Personal Statement
I always wanted to help people: How was the burning question! I signed up for any volunteering opportunity I could during my Undergraduate Studies. I became a mid-wife, and through working with Physicians, came to realize Medicine offered a unique blend of Science, and Service. To me, a Work-Life Balance means realizing the two co-exist! I approach work with the same passion, sincerity, and humility I bring to my hobbies and pastimes. The two best tools I’ve been taught are Patience, and Gratitude: Patience to actively strive against the current during challenges, and Gratitude for the countless privileges I’ve had to reach this stage in life. I often return to the Serenity Prayer in challenging times: Acceptance of what I cannot change, Courage to change what I can, and seeking Wisdom to know the difference. I’m proud to say that this mindset aids me in guiding patients and families through stressful times.

Why I Chose Cincinnati
University of Cincinnati offers the best balance of Education, with practical experience. I’ve found that, while I am very satisfied with the practical experience I gained during school, I longed for a depth of understanding. Any learning opportunity felt rushed at best, or at worst, neglected. When I interviewed, I saw the Drive in the residents to truly be excellent and feel comfortable practicing Medicine. I love learning, and teaching as a Tutor for my Medical School, and I look forward to being involved in Medical Education at UC! I’ve had family in the Area, and always remember the unique charm of the area fondly! All of what I’ve mentioned so far is second to the promise of candy in the Resident lounge.
