Responsibilities include: Research proposal review and revision, recruitment, project oversight, interdepartmental collaboration. Goal is to assess utility of force feedback on surgical skills training in virtual reality laparoscopic simulation. Findings presented February 2010, April 2010.

Responsibilities included: Invention of technique, feasibility study, patient recruitment, member of procedure team. Poster presentation April 2008.

Winter-Spring 2004-2005 Research Assistant, University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Department of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Hand Surgery - Preceptor, W. John Kitzmiller, MD. Responsibilities included: IRB submission, medical record review, literature search, database creation, and the additional responsibility of personal collaboration with the Department of Transplant Surgery. Research involved a retrospective review of ventral hernia repair technique, outcomes, and risk factor review in orthotopic liver transplant patients. Presented May 2005.

Fall-Spring 2000-2001 Research Assistant, Miami University, Department of Microbiology - Preceptor, Luis Actis, PhD. Responsibilities included: Bench research involved assisting with genetic isolation and characterization of iron scavenging mechanisms of pathogen A. baumanii.

Summer 1999, 2000; May- February 2001-2002 Research Assistant, Wood Hudson Cancer Research Laboratory, Newport, KY. Responsibilities included: Participation in the Undergraduate Research Education Program involving in vitro, genetic characterization, and cancer histology projects. Independently designed and developed a project involving a novel gene therapy vector for the treatment of prostate cancer.
