Professional Summary
Emily Verba Fischer returned to the United States after receiving her master’s degree in Visual Communication and Iconic Research from the Basel Academy of Art and Design. Prior to her studies in Switzerland, she worked as a visual designer for a variety of corporate and cultural clients in New York City, San Francisco, Seattle, and the French Alps. Through these experiences, she developed a teaching approach that emphasizes global citizenry in addition to design acuity.
Emily is the Associate Director of the Ullman School of Design within the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP). She is a tenured Associate Professor of Communication Design. Her ongoing areas of investigation include imagination, design for ecology and information aesthetics.
