Personal Statement
A community-centered approach to medicine is one I grew up witnessing back home. I am blessed to have many physicians in my family, including my stepfather, who went into Internal Medicine and has a private primary care practice. I draw a lot of inspiration from him, and he inspired me to go into Internal Medicine from day one of medical school. I have never looked back. I also draw inspiration from my own lifelong, obsessive curiosity. To this day, I spend much of my free time reading and writing. Exploring ideas and making connections between them is so rewarding, and I see many parallels between this practice and the practice of medicine.

Why I Chose Cincinnati
There was a moment after my interview with UC when, speaking with my mom, she said to me, “You sound like when you were little and just had an exciting day at school.” And it was easy to figure out why. This place has everything I was looking for in a program: a large academic center with a family feel, a commitment to resident education, patient-centered care with an added emphasis on ambulatory care, and a fantastic location in Cincinnati. Add to all that an amazing moment in my interview with Dr. Warm when I brought up a book I had just read that just so happened to be written by his favorite philosopher. Every sign pointed to UC, and I could not be more excited to continue my journey here.
