Research and Practice Interests

Professor Weidner’s research involves in the synthesis and characterization of electrochemically active materials, and the design and operation of electrochemical processes. His group employees a variety of electroanalytical techniques and sophisticated mathematical models to advance the fields of advanced batteries, electrochemical capacitors, fuel cells, hydrogen production, and electrolysis involving gas-fed anodes (e.g., HBr, HCl, SO2). He is a Fellow of the Electrochemical Society (ECS) and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), and a Program Evaluator (PEV) for ABET.
