Professional Summary
Eileen Werdman, DNP, APRN, CNS, is an Associate Professor and the Accelerated Direct Entry MSN Program Director at the University Of Cincinnati College Of Nursing. As Accelerated Program Director, she is responsible for daily operations of the college accelerated program designed to help students holding a bachelor’s degree in an area outside of nursing become a registered nurse and go on for an advanced practice master’s degree. Dr. Werdman has earned a DNP with a focus on Simulation and simulation curriculum, MSN in Adult Health trained as a CNS; 32+ years of medical surgical nursing with 28 years in nursing education both prelicensure and graduate. Sustained leadership as a board member and past President of the Ohio League for Nursing, national work through membership on the Ohio Action Coalition Steering Committee moving the work of the Future of Nursing forward and local work as President and board member for Beta Iota Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International. Invited to present on innovations in both UG and Accelerated curriculum through AACN including a webinar, MSN and BSN conferences and through the annual education summit sponsored by Ohio League for Nursing. Using this expertise, Dr. Werdman has developed a simulation course geared to assist students to reframe their thinking with a focus on IPEC competency integrating IPE simulation.
