Professional Summary

Dr. Mary Wynn is an Assistant Professor of Counseling and the School Counseling Field Placement Coordinator in the Counseling Program at the University of Cincinnati. She earned a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and a master’s in counseling with dual concentrations in clinical mental health and school counseling from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Professional School Counselor, and is a Nationally Certified Counselor. Her clinical experience includes coordinating the on-campus counselor training clinic during her doctoral studies, mental health counseling with law students, undergraduates, and students with Intellectual/ Developmental Disabilities, as well as trauma and crisis counseling and play therapy for survivors of domestic violence. She also has school counseling experience at the elementary and high schools levels.

Dr. Wynn is a former Chi Sigma Iota (CSI) Leadership Fellowship Intern. She currently serves on the CSI Wellness Counselors Practice and Research Committee. She also serves on the Professional Development committee for the International Association of Wellness Counseling (IAWC) and is an editorial board member for the Journal of Educational & Psychological Consultation. She received the Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2024 from the College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services. She was also recognized with the Leadership & Service Excellence Award by the Department of Educational Psychology and Counseling at the University of Tennessee in 2021.
