Professional Summary

Personal Statement
In my early clinical years, I worried that I did not have "the story" that so many people seemed to have, the single patient encounter that defined their career choice. I wondered if maybe I was not connecting deeply enough with patients, or if I had chosen medicine for the wrong reasons. As time passed, I realized my story was quieter. It was not the pull of a single experience, but all the small ones. The trust between the elderly gentleman and me, who shared his fears when no one else was in the room. The appreciation from the family I counseled in a moment of uncertainty. The relief in the eyes of the parents of a young man when I informed them that their son had fully recovered from septic shock. So, for me, I do not think the realization arrived all at once; rather, my commitment to medicine was a melody that built slowly, note by note, over the course of my lifetime. Internal medicine is the embodiment of all that I want to embrace and all that I hope to give to the world. My time at medical school showed me my way. Whenever I stepped away into another specialty, I found myself missing those conversations, the clinical reasoning, and that daily rhythm. It is not just the specialty I enjoy most; it is the one that feels like home.

Why I Chose Cincinnati
I chose Cincinnati because it was one of the few places where I felt I could grow not only as a clinician, but also as an educator. The Medical Education Pathway immediately stood out to me because it combines teaching, educational theory, mentorship, and scholarly work in a way that mirrors many of the things I've already enjoyed pursuing in medical school. More importantly, it felt like a place where I could bring a project idea that's been in the back of my mind for years to life: combining my love of music and medicine into an educational curriculum on listening and communication. Outside the hospital, Cincinnati's music scene, Graeter's ice cream, and family nearby made it feel like home from the start.
