Rachel Zieber

Rachel Bierkan is the music director and conductor for CCM Preparatory Department’s Cincinnati Junior Strings. She is a 1999 graduate of UC/CCM with a Bachelor’s degree in music education and holds a Master’s degree in music education from CCM as well.

Bierkan is the orchestra director for Loveland City Schools in Loveland, Ohio, teaching grades 6-12.  She has worked at summer music camps and festivals across the state of Ohio as a guest conductor.  In addition, she has been involved with American String Teachers Association and Ohio Music Educators Association, working with the Ohio All-State Orchestra, Southwest Region Orchestra assistant and District 14 Honor Orchestra.  Bierkan has travelled internationally and domestically with CJS to Australia, Canada, England and Ireland where the ensemble performed in the Sydney Opera House, Salisbury Cathedral, Christchurch Cathedral and many, many schools.

Ms. Bierkan currently performs in a Cincinnati area string quartet.
